Job Summary:
The Aircraft Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of aircraft maintenance operations within the organization. This role requires a high level of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety protocols. The Aircraft Maintenance Manager ensures that all aircraft maintenance activities are carried out efficiently, effectively, and in compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop, implement, and monitor aircraft maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry best practices.
2. Plan and schedule aircraft maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and major overhauls, to optimize aircraft availability and minimize downtime.
3. Manage a team of aircraft maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a highly skilled and motivated workforce.
4. Collaborate with other departments, such as operations, procurement, and engineering, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless aircraft availability.
5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of aircraft maintenance activities, including documentation of inspections, repairs, and component replacements.
6. Monitor and analyze aircraft maintenance trends, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
7. Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and maintenance program effectiveness.
8. Collaborate with external maintenance service providers and vendors to coordinate outsourced maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and timely completion.
9. Manage the aircraft maintenance budget, including cost control and forecasting, to optimize resource allocation and ensure financial targets are met.
10. Stay updated with industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aircraft maintenance, and implement necessary changes to maintain compliance and operational excellence.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 8 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
3. In-depth knowledge of aviation regulations, such as Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards, and other relevant local regulatory bodies.
4. Strong technical expertise in aircraft maintenance procedures, including knowledge of various aircraft systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques.
5. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse workforce.
6. Proven ability to develop and implement aircraft maintenance strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
7. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
8. Superior communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
9. Proficient in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications.
10. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
